Island Cargo announces booking platform to be developed in-house.

Island Cargo released a statement to announce the company will develop and implement their own custom cargo booking platform. Michael Johnson, CEO of Island Cargo, stated,

“We are a new company and we want to be the leading edge in the industry. In the past, when we met with companies that provide cargo booking platforms, we quickly realized the features we want come with a massive price tag. Meanwhile, the ‘budget systems’ are an out-of-the-box solution, which doesn’t fit our business case.”

Johnson has worked in both engineering and software development, which positions him well to oversee this project. He is excited about the strides Island Cargo has made in recent months: “We should have some screenshots of our new cargo booking software available to the public by Christmas,” Johnson said, “and we are adding new features to it daily.” Johnson added,

“The project is moving at a rapid pace. We have many ‘tricks’ up our sleeves, and I’m excited to reveal them all in due course!”

The project is set to be complete by Q2 of 2022, and demos for key stakeholders and customers will be available in early Q1 of 2022. There are many more exciting announcements to come as this project develops, so be sure to follow us on social media to stay up to date!
